At Maxy Apps, we build all our applications on a "Privacy by Design" model. We believe your data is your property. Our business model is based on providing great apps and subscriptions—not data monetisation. This policy covers all Maxy Apps applications, with app-specific details outlined below.
2. General Principles
These principles apply across all Maxy Apps applications:
Local-First Processing
Wherever possible, data processing happens on your device rather than our servers.
No Data Selling
We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
Minimal Data Collection
We only collect data essential for the app's functionality. If we don't need it, we don't collect it.
iCloud Encryption
When data is synced via iCloud, it's stored in your private, encrypted iCloud container that Maxy Apps cannot access.
3. App-Specific Policies
Each app may handle different types of data. Below are specific policies for each application.
3.1 Mint Money Tracker
If you choose to use the automated bank syncing features via Apple FinanceKit:
On-Device Processing
All transaction data fetched via FinanceKit is processed locally on your iPhone.
No Third-Party Access
We do not share FinanceKit data with third-party analytics, advertisers, or credit bureaus.
Zero-Knowledge Storage
Your financial history is stored in your private, encrypted iCloud container. Maxy Apps does not have access to your bank balances or transaction history.
Functional Use Only
Data is used exclusively to provide in-app services, specifically updating your Pulse Rings and calculating your Debt Horizon.
3.2 Miso Kitchen
Our AI-powered recipe assistant uses multimodal AI (Gemini 2.5 Flash and Maxy Apps AI Vision Engine) to help you manage recipes, pantry inventory, and nutrition. Here's how we handle your data:
Recipe Data & Universal Clipper
Recipes you save from Safari, Instagram, TikTok, or any website are stored locally on your device and synced to your private iCloud container. Original source links are preserved. We do not have access to your recipe collection.
Miso Lab & Image Processing
When you photograph a dish to reverse-engineer the recipe, or scan your pantry for inventory, images are processed using our AI Vision Engine. Photos are processed securely and not stored beyond the active session.
AI Conversations & Flavor Interviews
Interactions with Miso (including Flavor Interviews for recipe reconstruction) are processed to provide personalized suggestions. We do not use your conversations to train AI models or share them with third parties.
Allergen Detection & Safety Shield
Miso detects hidden allergens (Big 9 US and Top 14 EU standards) like fish in Worcestershire sauce or nuts in pesto. Your allergen preferences are stored locally on your device only.
Apple Health & Nutrition Tracking
Miso provides macro and micronutrient breakdowns with GLP-1, high-protein, and fat-loss journey support. If you enable Health sync, nutritional data is written to Apple Health using HealthKit. This data stays on your device—we cannot access your Health data.
Open Kitchen Community
When you share recipes to Open Kitchen, only the recipe content and your Community Username are visible. You may choose an anonymous username for privacy. We do not share your email, real name, location, or other personal data with the community.
Offline-First Architecture
Your shopping lists and recipes work offline—even in the grocery store basement. Data syncs securely to iCloud when connectivity is restored.
3.3 Last to Laugh
Our social game collects minimal data necessary for multiplayer functionality:
Display Name Only
We only collect the display name you choose—no real names or personal identifiers required.
Game Data
Game progress and session data is used solely for gameplay and is not linked to your identity.
No Social Tracking
We do not track your social connections, contacts, or build behavioural profiles.
4. Marketing & Advertising
No Data-Driven Marketing: We strictly prohibit using your app data for marketing, advertising, or profiling purposes.
Optional Communications: If you subscribe to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time. Newsletter signup is separate from app functionality.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
You have full control over your data. Deleting the app or your account will remove all locally stored data. For data synced to iCloud, you can delete it through your device's iCloud settings. Since we do not store your personal data on our servers, we cannot "recover" it if lost—this is a feature of our commitment to your privacy.
6. Updates to This Policy
As we launch new apps, we will update this policy with app-specific sections. Material changes will be communicated through our apps or website. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
